Michelle's water broke shortly after Midnight on Tuesday, January 11, 2005. By 2:00 a.m. we were checked into St.
Lukes Episcopal Hospital and Michelle's mom, Anna Devor, had arrived to pick up a very sleepy Nathaniel.
They started Michelle on Pitocin (a contraction-inducing synthetic hormone) early the next morning, and soon she was
in full-blown labor. Around 11:30 a.m. she was ready to push. They called in the "team" of doctors, nurses, and
specialists, and by 11:51 a.m. Theresa Joy Brown came into the world.
She was placed on her Mom while they cut her umbilical cord, and then whisked away down the hall to be intubated, have
various tubes inserted in her abdomen and chest, and stabilized. Once stable, she was brought back in for Mom to see
before being taken off to the Neonatal III unit in Texas Children's Hospital.
